Emotional Big Springs Park Summer Elopement
Big Springs Park - Provo, UT
It’s almost been a year since this beautiful elopement and I can’t believe I’m just now posting it! This wedding day was filled with (happy) tears, champagne and frolics through the summertime green Utah grass.
Our couple was very sweet and intentional with their big day. They decided that they only wanted their siblings present as they confirmed their love in the mountains. We started the day with an idyllic stroll through the forest, starting specifically at Big Springs Park in Provo Canyon. My 2nd shooter (wife) and I made sure to not engage too much as we photographed the bride and groom with their caravan. You could tell that the wedding day was starting to sink in as we continued through the trees.
Once the forest ended, a valley area opened up that looked like a perfect place to set up our invisible altar. The bride started with her heartfelt and meaningful vows. My wife and I made sure to keep our distance, giving the couple their space as we photographed from afar. One thing for other couples hoping to elope (and also other general wedding day couples opting to do a private vow exchange) to keep in mind is that most of the time we do not even hear your vows as we are so consumed with capturing the moment. I know some couples want to have as much privacy as possible! Also another thing that is great about photographing an elopement is that you are able to have unlimited access during the wedding ceremony. We were able to have 360° photo coverage during the entire ceremony.
After the groom said his vows, there was a first kiss for the ages along with an absolutely epic champagne spray! We then got photos of the bride and groom as they were ecstatic beyond any measure. It was truly an amazing day and an incredible elopement to photograph!
